The Denton churchbells.

Denton Church has six bells but originally had four bells. The original bells were the now No1, No3, No4 and No5. These were augmented to six bells in 1782 by recasting four bells and adding the new No2 and No6 (the tenor). The Denton churchbells were re-hung in 1855 by Denton wheelwright and machinemaker Mr John Caborn. In 1994 the bells were again re-hung, this time in metal frames by Hayward Mills Associates.

The ringing world index of 1994 listed Denton as number 1060 when the bells were re-dedicated.

No1 or the Treble bell, was recast in 1782 by Thomas Hedderly of Nottingham and was again recast in 1839 by Thomas Mears of London. In 1782 before recasting it weighed 6cwt 1qtr 3lbs, it now weighs 5cwt 3qtr 24lbs. It has a lip diameter of 29.50inches and a note of D#.
